Student Support Program – Request for Grant Proposals
The Student Support Program aims to provide Western Australian students from refugee and migrant backgrounds, including Muslim students, with additional support to improve
their educational outcomes. Funding for the project is provided through the Commonwealth Government’s National Action Plan to Build on Social Cohesion, Harmony and Security.
Eligibility
Only not-for-profit incorporated community based and non-government organisations and educational institutions based in Western Australia are eligible to apply for funding
to deliver the Student Support Program.
Priorities
Priority will be given to projects that:
- improve educational outcomes for students who are humanitarian entrants or from migrant backgrounds, including Muslim Australians;
- involve the collaboration and in-kind support of a school or schools with significant numbers of students from refugee or migrant backgrounds who require additional educational assistance;
- engage the parents of target students from refugee and migrant backgrounds in their children’s learning;
- target assistance to secondary school students, particularly Years 8-10
- include a plan to monitor and report on educational outcomes and promote key findings to relevant bodies who may provide ongoing support.
